Wife, mother, Christ-follower,
community leader, and freedom-loving patriot.
Born in San Diego to a family of veterans, small business owners, and community leaders, I grew up with leadership in action. A first-generation college graduate, I am no stranger to hard work and adversity. After dedicating myself to my studies and working over 40 hours a week between several jobs, I graduated debt free from the University of Oregon with a BA in Spanish.
Jan will be the kind of leader Scottsdale needs. To be of the people, for the people.
In 1998 after hearing about its reputation of immense opportunity and prosperity with high wages and low cost of living, I chose to live and work in the beautiful state of Arizona.
Life threw a curveball when my first son, Trevor, was born prematurely. Those were challenging days, as I cared for Trevor while putting myself through law school. I graduated from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University as a Pedrick scholar and began my legal career at U-Haul International, Inc. in Downtown Phoenix.
Today, Jan is a nationally recognized
healthcare expert as seen on Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax, Cheddar, and OANN.
As a corporate executive, I worked as General Counsel and Chief Operations Officer for an insurance carrier where I made a name for myself as an outspoken leader against the disaster of government-run healthcare. I quickly became a leading healthcare advocate and nationally recognized expert, appearing on Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax, Cheddar, and OANN.
Concerned for my state and community, I volunteered as a poll watcher in 2020. Since then, I’ve become a fierce advocate for our community and ran for Arizona State Senate in 2022. I currently serve our district as Republican Precinct Committeeman and Captain of the Lane Precinct. In 2022, I was awarded “Outstanding Precinct Committeeman” by the Maricopa County Republican Committee.
I am committed to protecting Scottsdale and listening to the needs and concerns of Scottsdale residents.
In 2024, I was proud to be the highest vote-getter in the Scottsdale City Council election and have served Scottsdale residents for the last two years with a consistent residents-first, conservative agenda, delivering on the promises I made and listening and responding to the concerns of residents. In 2025, I was proud to be awarded the Police Officers of Scottsdale Association’s 2025 Champion of Public Safety, recognizing my commitment to law enforcement and safe communities. As the Chair of the Public Safety Committee, I’m proud to work closely with Scottsdale Police and Scottsdale Fire to ensure our community’s safety.
Scottsdale offers wonderful opportunities to learn about our city and I am a proud graduate of the Scottsdale Citizen’s Government Academy, the Scottsdale Citizen’s Water Academy, the Scottsdale Prosecution Citizen’s Academy, and the Scottsdale Police Department Citizen’s Academy. And I serve as a member of the Scottsdale Unified School District Wellness Committee.
My husband and I have a blended family of five children ranging in age from 29-9 years old. We are very proud of our son, who is a Scottsdale Firefighter. We live in DC Ranch with our two youngest daughters.
